    Irving ISD Outdoor Events Canceled - Wednesday, February 19 and Thursday, February 20

    We are continuing to monitor the inclement weather conditions. All Irving ISD outdoor events at the elementary, middle and high school level have been canceled for today, Wednesday, February 19, and tomorrow, Thursday, February 20.


    As of now, all indoor school operations, including extracurricular activities and programs, will continue as scheduled unless indicated otherwise. 


    We will continue to monitor weather conditions daily and will inform you immediately if there are any changes to any other district operations the rest of the week. 


    We encourage you to stay updated through the district’s Facebook, X, Instagram and Nextdoor accounts and on IrvingISD.net/WeatherUpdate. Stay safe and warm!

    Irving ISD Outdoor Events Canceled - Tuesday, February 18

    We are aware of the anticipated inclement weather conditions this week. As of now, all indoor school operations, including extracurricular activities, will continue as planned until further notice. 
    However, all Irving ISD outdoor events at the elementary, middle and high school level have been canceled for today, Tuesday, February 18. This includes games for:

    • High School Girls and Boys Soccer
    • High School Golf
    • High School Tennis
    • High School Softball

    We will continue to monitor weather conditions daily and will inform you immediately if there are any changes to district operations the rest of the week.

Inclement Weather Communications

  • In Irving ISD, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Stay in the know and stay connected and be prepared in case of inclement weather. 

    WEATHER ALERTS

    If inclement weather makes travel to and from campuses unsafe, Irving ISD may cancel or delay school. A school messenger phone call, email, and text stating cancellation or delays will be made as soon as possible to parents and staff.   

    To learn if Irving ISD has made a weather announcement, check the following places before sending your child to school:

    BUNDLE UP AND STAY ALERT

    Students should dress appropriately for the weather, including wearing shoes with a grip for icy or rainy road conditions. Please make sure your child can see and hear through clothing to stay alert for traffic. 

    BUS RIDER TIPS

    • Stay 3 to 5 feet away as the bus approaches
    • Allow time for the bus to make a complete stop before entering
    • In case of inclement weather, be prepared for slight delays to bus route times
    • Parents can call the Transportation Center at 972.600.5670 with any questions or concerns. A dispatcher will answer the phone.
