Irving ISD officials recognize the role that news media can play in helping to inform the public about Irving ISD schools, programs and accolades. Therefore, it is the district’s practice to collaborate with media personnel and reporters. The communications department staff manages all news media inquiries.

The communications department staff strives to provide accurate and timely information to local, state and national media. If you are a reporter or are a representative of a news organization, please contact a member of the communications department and we will be happy to assist you. We will work to ensure you have access to the best sources of information and that factual information is shared as quickly as the information is available.

With the district’s focus on instruction and student learning, it’s the goal of the communications department to balance the needs of the students, teachers and school staff with the needs of the media. While we want to maintain a positive working relationship with reporters, our primary goal is student safety and little to no disruptions to the learning process or school environment.
