Celebrating Black History Month

  • Black History Month is a celebration of the contributions and achievements of African-Americans throughout U.S. history. Observed every February, this month is a time to honor Black pioneers – both past and present – while also celebrating the tremendous strides generations have made.

Over the next four weeks, Irving ISD will join in on the celebration with events and activities for all to enjoy. From performances and employee spotlights to library displays and curriculum design, check out some of the ways we are celebrating.
