Translation & Interpretation Services

  • Translation and interpretation services are available to all Irving ISD schools and departments. The Department of Communications provides interpretation and translation services to facilitate communication with parents and families who speak and understand a language other than English. These services allow parents to access information and resources as well as actively participate in their children's education.

Translation Services

  • We translate district and school-level communication materials, handbooks and mansuls, parent release and consent forms, surveys, departmental documents, parent engagement materials and campus improvement plans. 

    Allow at least two working days for a 1-3 page document, and provide more notice for longer translations and technical documents. Same-day service cannot be guaranteed. 

    Prior to submitting material for translation, please follow these instructions:

    • Send only the final version of the document
    • Submitted documents should be in editable, unlocked formats (Word, PPT, etc.). Other types of files may not be accepted or may result in delays.
    • If the request is a revised document that has been previously translated, provide a record of the revisions (track changes, list of edits, etc.).
    • Copyrighted or third-party material will not be translated unless proper permission has been obtained.

Interpretation Services

  • We offer virtual or in-person interpreter services in Spanish. For additional languages, our team can help schedule an interpretator through our contracted vendors. In addition, we have interpretation equipment available to our departments and schools they can use for events, parent meetings, etc. To secure an interpreter and/or interpretation equipment, provide at least a week notice and complete the Interpreter Request(s) located in the boxes below.
