Learning Services

  • Our Learning Services team is committed to educating Irving ISD students with equity and excellence. We serve students and empower educators in the areas of curriculum & instruction, gifted & talented services, library and digital resources, bilingual/ESL programming, MTSS, special education services and dyslexia therapy. 

    Additionally, we provide support in the areas of research & evaluation and professional learning. We strive to work towards our district mission of ensuring that each student attains intellectual and personal excellence.

  • Dr. Lisa Castillo Dr. Lisa Castillo

    Chief Learning Officer

    Dr. Lisa Castillo, an educator of 29 years with experience at the secondary and collegiate level, serves as the district’s Chief Learning Officer, whose goal is to foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation and growth in Irving ISD. She is committed to unlocking potential, driving success and creating an environment where knowledge and skills flourish.

    Castillo most recently served as the Executive Director of CCMR and Enrichment in Fort Worth ISD, where she was also the Founding Principal of Tarrant County College South/Fort Worth ISD Collegiate High School. She also served as the Assistant Principal at Singley Academy, Assistant Principal at Venus High School, and she taught and coached at James Bowie and Thomas Jefferson High Schools. 

    Castillo earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration, a Master of Science in Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Counseling and Speech Communications, all from Texas A&M University - Commerce. She also holds Superintendent and Principal Certifications.
