College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) measures graduates' preparedness for college, the workforce, or the military.
Irving ISD strives to ensure that all Irving ISD graduates attain at least one CCMR indicator before graduation.
TEA (Texas Education Agency) has defined the below set of CCMR indicators that may be earned to be considered college, career or military ready:
- Meet Texas Success Initiative (TSI) in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics in any combination of the following measures
- meet SAT college ready criteria (480+ EBRW; 530+Math)
- meet ACT college ready criteria (40+ combined score on English+Reading; 22+ Math)(as of February 2023)
- meet TSIA2 college ready criteria (945+ ELA & 5 or higher on essay; 950+Math)
- successfully completing a college prep course, such as Texas College Bridge
- Earn Dual Course credits in any of the below means
- successfully complete at least 3 college credit hours on an English or Math course
- successfully earn at least 9 credit hours on any dual credit courses
- Meet Criteria on Advanced Placement (AP) exam of 3+
- Earn an Associates Degree
- Earn an Industry Based Certificate (IBC) and
- earn at least 2 credits within your Program of Study (Class of 2025)
- earn at least 4+ credits in 3+ courses within your Program of Study (Class of 2026 and beyond)
- Graduate with a completed Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and determined to be workforce ready by ARD committee
- Enlist in the Armed Forces or Texas National Guard
- Graduate under the Foundation High School Plan with an Endorsement (FHSP-E) or the Foundation High School Plan with a Distinguished Level of Achievement (FHSP-DLA) AND be currently identified as a special education student
- Earn a Level I or Level II certificate in any workforce education area through Dallas College.
