You must have two professional references including one recent supervisor reference for your application to be reviewed (references from family and friends will not be accepted).

What should I bring to my onboarding appointment?
All new employees attend an onboarding training hosted by Irving ISD. Please bring the following documents with you:
- I-9 documents (Reference the list of acceptable documents)
- Social Security Card required for payroll/E-Verify purposes (no receipts or copies)
- Official high school diploma or college transcripts (unofficial/unsealed transcripts will not be accepted. If your transcripts are from a foreign country, they must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency. Reference the list of TEA Approved Credential Evaluation Services)
- Guest Educator Skills Assessment (If you have less than 48 hours of college credit, you will need to complete this skills assessment.)
- Completed new hire forms

What are the basic requirements to become a guest educator?
Guest educators will need to meet the following requirements:
- High school Diploma or GED Equivalency
- SB 9 Fingerprints through TEA (Approx. $50)
- Available to accept 5 assignments per month.
- Must speak and understand conversational and proper English. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Ability to read and comprehend written materials (lesson plans, student information, textbooks, policy and procedure).
- STEDI training for individuals who do not possess a current teaching certificate. ($39.95)
