Instructional materials cover the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and provide a full suite of resources including scope and sequence, daily lesson plans, and student materials. With a commitment to academic excellence, Irving ISD continuously updates its curriculum resources to reflect best practices and the latest educational innovations. Notice to Reviewers - License Agreement:
The below license applies only to pre-approval samples of Texas Education Agency (TEA) materials that are under State Board of Education (SBOE) review (“Program Materials”) and that are not subject to a Creative Commons (CC) license or a custom license with the third-party owner. This license is intended to provide notice to reviewers of granted rights and restrictions on use of the materials. All users should be aware that certain Program Materials are subject to custom or CC licenses as applicable and noted in the materials. The units that are under CC license are not limited by this license and are subject to the terms of the applicable CC license noted in that particular material. The units that are under a custom license are subject to the terms of the applicable custom license noted in that particular material. The Texas OER K–5 Math materials are subject to the specific license noted in the link to those materials.
This license is in effect only while the materials are pending approval before the SBOE pursuant to Chapter 31 of the Texas Education Code (TEC). Upon approval, a new license, applicable to the individual material, will be issued granting use of the final, approved version of the TEA’s materials.
For avoidance of doubt, this limited license does not grant any intellectual property right for any purpose or use outside of instructional materials review and approval as required by Chapter 31 of TEC and related governmental and administrative purposes. Third-party materials may be subject to additional restrictions.
Texas Residents are granted a nonexclusive, limited, temporary, revocable right and license to read, evaluate, and comment on the Program Materials solely for non-commercial purposes in connection with the review process as required or allowed by Chapter 31 of TEC. This license is granted in consideration for the opportunity to review Program Materials and participate in the overall review process. Program Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, publicly performed, publicly displayed, modified, transmitted, or derivative works made thereof, without the publisher’s prior written approval.

Texas Science by McGraw Hill
Implementation of Texas Science by McGraw Hill began in the fall of 2024. This high-quality instructional material (HQIM) provides teachers with lesson plans and resources to address 3-dimensional learning as outlined in our state standards. Students engage in science and engineering practices (SEPs) and make connections with recurring themes and concepts (RTCs) while learning science content through hands-on experiences and phenomena. Texas Science is a SBOE approved resource that addresses 100% of the TEKS in grades K-5. Parents can view Texas Science materials through the MHE ConnectED App (McGraw Hill) from Classlink Launchpad.

Social Studies K-2:
Implementation of Texas Studies Weekly began in the fall of 2022. This instructional material provides teachers with lesson plans and resources to address our state standards. Texas Studies Weekly is a SBOE approved resource that addresses 100% of the TEKS. Parents can view Texas Studies Weekly materials through the Studies Weekly App from Classlink Launchpad.
Social Studies 3-5:
Students in grades 3-5 learn Social Studies through Irving ISD created material adapted from the adopted Pearson My World instructional materials. This instructional material provides teachers with lesson plans and resources to address our state standards. Pearson My World is a SBOE approved resource that addresses 100% of the TEKS.
