Transitional Early-Exit Bilingual Model

  • The Transitional Early Exit Bilingual Program in Irving ISD is designed to support Emergent Bilingual students by building a strong foundation in their native language while developing English proficiency. Students receive instruction in both languages with the goal of transitioning to English-only instruction. This program accelerates English acquisition while valuing students’ home language and supporting academic success.

Participating Schools

  • Students will need to enter the program before 1st grade.

    The following schools offer the Dual Language One-Way program: 

    Early Childhood Schools

    • Clifton, Kinkeade and Pierce

    Grades: PreK

    Elementary Schools

    • Barton, Brown, Davis, Gilbert, Good, John Haley, Hanes, Johnston, Keyes, Lively, Schulze, Stipes, Townley and Townsell. 

    Grades: PreK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade
