Instructional Resources EFB (Local) - Library Materials
The District shall provide a wide range of instructional resources for students and faculty that present varying levels of difficulty, diversity of appeal, and a variety of points of view and learning purposes.
Library Material Selection Guidelines
A certified school librarian or professional library staff trained on proper collection development standards is responsible for the selection and acquisition of library materials.
Weeding Collections Guidelines
Materials that no longer meet the stated objectives of the library (including those that have become damaged or obsolete) will be systematically withdrawn, using the guidelines suggested in The CREW Manual, revised and updated by Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
Students shall be responsible for the care and return of state-owned textbooks, library books, and instructional resources and may be charged for them when such items are lost or damaged.
Reconsideration of Instructional Materials
A parent or legal guardian of a student currently enrolled in the school district or an employee of the school district may request the reconsideration of a specific item in their school's district library catalog.
