FAQ
-
How are behavioral issues addressed?
If there is an issue during a route or additional assistance is needed, the driver is instructed to contact the Dispatch office.
The Irving ISD Security & Director of Transportation and/or the school will be consulted on how best to proceed if the issue prevents a timely route.
-
What is the process of notifying families if a SPED route changes?
Irving ISD Transportation will contact parents/guardians to inform them of the new route assignment and pick-up/drop-off times.
Families will be contacted within three to five school days after Irving ISD receives a transportation change request.
If a special education student who receives transportation services moves, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify the school and request a transportation change.
-
If a student is not present and the driver departs, will the student be picked up later?
If an Irving ISD school official requests, Irving ISD Transportation will send a return bus after the route is completed.
The parent/guardian must contact the school in order for the request to be processed.
-
If a student is not present, is the parent/guardian contacted before the driver departs?
The driver will notify the dispatcher for further instructions.
The office will call the contact number listed on file for the student.
