An In-district Transfer may be granted to current Irving ISD students wishing to attend a district school outside of their attendance zone for approval reasons. The In-district transfer window for the 2025-2026 school year will be open from March 3rd – July 10th, 2025. During that window, the priority transfer window will be from March 3rd, 2025 - April 17th, 2025 and the second chance transfer window will be from April 18th, 2025 - July 10th, 2025.

Students interested in attending a school outside of their attendance zone must submit an in-district transfer request. In-District Transfer requests are granted through a lottery process.

TRANSFER APPLICATION

Thank you for your interest in Irving ISD. Here are the steps to register your child:

Step 1
Complete the In-District Application to begin the application.

Step 2
Families will be notified via email (the one used in the application process) about their child's application status- approval, waitlisted, or denial. Notification timelines are below.

Step 3
If the transfer application is approved, families will need to review and submit the Transfer Agreement with the approval campus.

Before submitting a transfer request, review the Transfer Guidelines: 

• In-District Transfer requests are granted through a lottery and not on a first come, first served basis.
• Requests must be submitted online.
• The Department of Campus Operations oversees the lottery for the priority transfer window, while the campus principals approve or deny requests for the second transfer window.
• Once approved, transfer students are able to complete every grade level available at the assigned school without renewing annually, if terms of the transfer agreement are upheld. 
• Transfers are subject to revocation at the end of every semester based on attendance and behavior. In the case of revocation, parents and the student's home campus will be notified. 

 Bus transportation is not provided for transfer students. Families are responsible for arranging their student's transportation to and from school. 

• Monday, March 3, 2025: In-District Transfer Priority application opens.
  Thursday, April 17, 2025:  In-District Transfer Priority application window closes.
  By Friday, May 9, 2025*:  Notifications sent to families who submitted a transfer request within the priority transfer window. Requests denied due to space may be waitlisted in the second transfer window.
  Thursday, July 10, 2025:  Second Transfer Window Closes
  After Monday, August 4, 2025: Campuses will reach out to families that have been accepted after the second transfer window closes.
  
  

• *Friday, May 16th: Notifications sent to families who submitted a transfer request within the priority transfer window for PRE - K only (after the enrollment window). Requests denied due to space may be waitlisted in the second transfer window.
