Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
-
Safety is our highest priority during arrival and dismissal. To ensure that every child is safe, teachers and support staff are assigned to monitor areas. Please review the procedures carefully with your child and reinforce the importance of following the procedures on a daily basis. Any change in arrival/dismissal must be indicated in writing and communicated to the teacher and office staff by 2:00pm.
MORNING CAR DROP-OFF
Every morning all students riding in vehicles will enter into the car loop in front of the school. Parents are asked to pull forward to unload in the designated lane, unloading area. Students should be prepared to exit the car immediately, having already gathered up any necessary materials. If in lane 1 (closest to ASJ) all students MUST exit the vehicle on the passenger side onto the sidewalk. For the safety of your child and others, never let a child out of the car on the driver's side. If in lane 2, all students MUST exit the vehicle on the driver side onto the sidewalk and walk to the crosswalk to wait on the crossing guard before crossing the street. We ask that all students are dropped off no later than 7:45 a.m. to get to their classrooms and begin the day promptly at 7:45 a.m. Tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m. Arriving after the tardy bell, parents will need to walk student(s) into the building and sign them in at the front office.
AFTERNOON CAR DISMISSAL
(please see the attached map for dismissal locations)
Car Riders: Families with students living in the same household will receive a group car tag. Families with one child will receive a single car tag. Car tags must be displayed when picking up your child. If you forget your car tag, you will need to wait until car dismissal is completed, and come to the office to receive your child. Please talk with your child’s teacher or the front office about car tags.
Walk ups: This area is designated for families that live in the neighborhood and walk to pick up your child. If you drive to pick up your child, please register as a car rider. K-1st grade students will have a walk up tag. When you arrive at the cafeteria doors, there will be grade level cones designated for you to stand while waiting for your child to be dismissed. PreK - 1st grade parents will need to show their walk-up tag. 2nd - 5th grade students will walk out at 3:15, looking for parents. If they do not see you, they are to return into the building and wait.
VALET PICK-UP: Any student that has not been picked up by 3:30 will need to be checked out in the front office. Please park and enter the building bringing your Dismissal Tag and ID. Keep the following in mind:
BUS ARRIVAL and DISMISSAL
All bus riders will be dropped off and picked up at the designated bus area. It is unlawful to ever have cars in the bus loop. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as everyone gets into this daily routine.
First Week of School: Parents of PreK, Kindergarten and First grade students will be allowed to walk their child to class until August 16th.
