National Junior Honor Society

  • National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a national organization that consists of many chapters in middle schools (grades 6-9). The National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 in the hopes of creating an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while also developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The ideals of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship remain as relevant today as they were in 1929.

Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

The Lady Bird Johnson Middle School chapter of NJHS, founded in 2011, is committed to promoting these qualities in our members and providing true services to our community.
